. Training objectives

This major aims to cultivate students with all-round development of morality,intelligence, physical education, art and labor; students will master theoretical knowledge and practical skills for mechanical design,advanced manufacturing ,automatic control, sensor detection, robot technology, artificial intelligence,ocean engineering, etc; students will have such engineering abilities as robot system integration, production and manufacturing,debugging and maintenance,and innovative application, and be able to use relevant theories and methods to solve complex robotic engineering problems in marine applications;students will be equipped with team cooperation ability, international communication ability, and ability to participate in international dialogues and cooperations. After about five years of work practice,graduates can achieve the following goals:

1. Have a good professional ethics in engineering and a sense of social responsibility, and be able to formulate technical and management plans in a comprehensive manner considering social and environmental factors.

2. Have strong professionalism, good teamwork spirit and international communication skills, and be able to solve engineering technical problems in this professional field.

3. Engineering talents engaged in robot system integration, debugging and maintenance, program development and after-sales service in the field of robot production and application.

4. Engineering and technical talents who are in line with the "One Belt One Road" national strategy, capable of external professional technical exchanges, have an international perspective, can conduct cross-cultural exchanges and cooperation,and participate in international competition.

5. Possess lifelong learning ability and constantly adapt to the needs of social economic and technological development.

. Training measures

1. Introduce high-quality educational resources from NUOS, as well as her advanced educational and teaching concepts and curriculum training system.

2. Diversified teaching methods. Classroom teaching values the cultivation of innovation ability and practical skills, adopts project teaching,seminar and problem discussion and other teaching methods that are closely integrated with practice and focuses on improving students’ analytical ability and problem-solving ability.

3. All imported courses are taught in English by NUOS teachers. Core courses of the major are equipped with JOU teaching assistants(bilingual teaching and Q&A) who are all full-time teachers with doctorate degrees in relevant majors and with overseas study and work experience.

4.22 credits of English courses must be taken. Among them, English Reading and Writing and English Listening and Speaking are taught according to the highest requirements of the University. Overseas teaching materials, syllabus and teaching plans are introduced for Specialized English of Robot Engineering.Academic Thesis Writing is taught by NUOS teachers

5.The graduation thesis is jointly directed by tutors from JOU and NUOS.

6.The experts from both sides shall form a joint defense committee. and the graduation defense shall be in English or bilingual;if the NUOS experts are not present, network video mode can be used for remote defense.

V. School system and training model

The standard school system of this project is 4 years. NUOS and JOU jointly formulate training programs and organize teaching.All lectures and related teaching activities are conducted in JOU.
